Solution: Select the given piston diameter, determine the intersection of the horizontal line and the operating pressure line, and the air consumption can be read from the horizontal axis. Multiply the read value by the stroke (cm) of the pneumatic cylinder. The value read in the above steps is 0.091/cm stroke, so the air consumption for a single stroke is 4.51. For the return stroke, the volume of the piston rod must be reduced by 20mm diameter (0.0141/cm stroke × 50cm stroke = 0.71). Therefore, the air consumption for the return stroke is 3.8, and the air consumption for the round trip stroke is 8.3.

II. Cylinder Usage Requirements
(1) Normal working conditions of the cylinder: The medium and ambient temperature are generally -20~80℃, and the working pressure is generally 0.1~1.0MPa. For specific conditions, see the technical parameter table of various cylinders. (2) Before installation, a test should be conducted at 1.5 times the working pressure; there should be no air leakage.
(3) An oil mist lubricator should be installed at the air inlet to facilitate lubrication during operation. Proper lubrication of the cylinder is extremely important; poor lubrication often leads to crawling or even malfunction.
(4) During installation, pay attention to the direction of motion; the piston rod should not be subjected to eccentric or lateral loads.
(5) When the load changes during the stroke, a cylinder with sufficient output force should be used, and a buffer device should be added.
(6) Do not use the full stroke, especially when the piston rod is extended; do not allow the piston to collide with the cylinder head. Otherwise, damage to parts such as the piston and cylinder head can easily occur.
